This paper reviews disaster preparedness, responses, and recovery mechanisms that have been put in place in the city, emphasizing the role of local government in mitigating such risks. This paper outlines infrastructural vulnerabilities, gaps in governance accountability, and limited community engagements impeding efficient disaster management. Drawing on best practices from the domestic case study of Surat and the international case study of Bangkok, this paper carries policy recommendations that can be utilized to enhance Vadodara's disaster resilience.
