Abstract

The aim of this research study is to compare the spine angles of professional golfers with that of amateurs or enthusiasts. The data is extracted from pictures/videos of the players with the help of a software which utilizes computer vision. Such a comparison will generate useful information on the differences in the performance of professionals and amateurs which golfers can utilize to improve upon their stance and hence overall golf performance. This paper shows that a proper spine angle can be attained and maintained by players with sufficient years of practice and training. Awareness of the importance of the spine angle not only helps players actively improve their game but also ensures that the players can enjoy the spot with less chances of injury.
