ABSTRACT

India has always been distinct from other nations in large part because of its culture and traditions, which date back to ancient times. This was accomplished through the mediums of music, art, and cuisine—all of which are still widely appreciated and alive today. However, the traditional dance forms—which are now a disappearing tradition—are frequently overlooked and neglected. Indian classical dance is a multifaceted art form that uses many different styles to help convey the exquisite Hindu mythological tales. This policy paper is going to explore what exactly is Indian classical dance, how it originated, how it is declining in today’s modern society and why it is important to revive and preserve our culture.
