ABSTRACT

In the first section, there will be explanations on the different types of shapes and configurations of current spacecraft, and why they are built that way. In the second section, there are challenges that aerospace engineers need to overcome in order to build a spacecraft that can re-enter the atmosphere safely. The third section will go into specific factors that will influence re-entry, depending on the speed of the vehicle and the configuration of the spacecraft itself. After that, this research paper will explain areas of improvement and future designs in section 4. Finally, there will be a summary regarding the findings in the research paper, why it is important to continue researching/developing re-entry vehicles, and how these findings will contribute to the aerospace community.
